Yorick listens while you hold the key, turns your words into text on your Mac, and types them. Your voice and your words stay on the machine. No audio or dictated text is ever uploaded. There is no account, no API key, and no subscription.

Recordings are discarded the moment transcription finishes. Your saved list lives on your Mac and fades on its own schedule.

Every network call the app makes

1. Update check. The app periodically asks for the signed update feed. Every update is cryptographically signed. You can turn scheduled checks off in Settings.
2. Anonymous usage counts. The app occasionally sends that day's totals, like how many dictations happened. The whole payload is a random install id, the date, a handful of numbers, and the app version. Never your words, never audio, never the names of apps you typed into. The server does not store where the request came from, and counts are deleted after 100 days. Every field is listed in TELEMETRY.md, the code on both ends is public, and the off switch is in Settings under Privacy.
3. Whisper model download. Only if you choose the optional Whisper engine. One download of the model, from this site.

That is the whole list. The app is open source, so none of this asks for your trust. Run Little Snitch. Read the source. We insist.

Permissions

Yorick asks for two. Microphone, to hear you. Accessibility, to type for you and to see whether a text field is focused. It never takes screenshots and never records your screen.
